One hundred percent of every dollar loaned through Kiva goes directly towards the funding of the microfinance loans. Micro Credit Financing
Microfinance is a general term to describe financial services to low-income individuals. A microfinance institution (MFI) is an organization that provides microfinance services. MFIs range from small non-profit to large commercial banks. Kiva works with microfinance institutions on five continents to provide loans to people without access to traditional banking systems.
How To Use Kiva
1. Create An Account Through Kiva.
2. Choose An Entrepreneur.
- Choose your client from around the world.
- The Field Partners distribute and administer your loans.
3. Follow Your Loan.
- You will be updated with the progress of your loan(s) and repayment(s).
4. Repeat!
- Any repayment(s) from the entrepreneur(s) that you loan to are yours to either keep, or to re-lend to another entrepreneur in need.
